An Explosive First Day

So, my professor ended our first day of class with an extrodinary attention getter. The pity is this, he did it at the end of class so it wasn't as exciting. He was talking about the scientific method--how you have to test things over and over again to find a general statement that fits everything, and then he was talking about this balloon "Why does it float?" Some smarty pants in the back of the class "Because it's lighter then air." "Now what would it be filled with in order for it to be lighter then air?" and everyone "Hydrogen... Helium" (a bunch of voices overlapping here) So he said "How do we test this?" and we all, mocking "the holy grail" here "YOU BURN IT!" and so he attatched a match to the end of a stick and lit it up. You see the fireball at the top of the screen? Yeah, so that's kinda what it looked like. And it made this really big boom noise "And this is my BOOM stick, on special for $179.95 at S-Mart... Shop Smart, shop S-Mart." Yeah, that was my first day of Physics. Later guys.
